Weekend Cat Blogging: Sophie

I was looking through some of my kitty photos and came across this one. Wow. Time sure flies! This is my Sophie, almost one year ago. She died a couple months after this photo was taken, after she got into the path of some dogs. At least that's what I believe happened. She disappeared one morning and never came back. Her body was found next door by the gardener. She left behind three beautiful kittens, one of whom I kept, Henry. I can't believe Henry is one year old already!

The Montego bay Animal Haven

I had to come out of my Blogging hiatus to highlight this very, very worthy cause. It's the Montego Bay Animal Haven. Recently formed by a group of friends and professionals in Montego Bay, Jamaica, who are just the greatest, kindest, sweetest, most loving people in the world! The Haven's primary aim is to help animals who are abandoned and starving; ensure they are medically fit, spayed or neutered and then re-homed to responsible, loving new owners.

I tell you, when you find people this selfless in the cause of animals, it's truly a blessing! This is the ONLY shelter for animals in Montego Bay. Dare I say it? It is the only shelter in all of western Jamaica!

Last month they brought in vets from overseas and conducted a free neuter/spay programme. Their aim was to neuter/spay 300 stray dogs & cats. They were not only successful in meeting that target, but they exceeded it by finding homes for several of the stray animals! The story appeared in the Gleaner newspaper here.

I commend this group for starting this programme and I sincerely wish them all the best. I definitely will continue to support them in whatever way I can and hope others in the community will as well. The group right now is in desperate need of a permanent place/land from which they can operate full time. They plan eventually to offer several services that are so greatly needed in Montego Bay. Montego Bay currently does NOT have an emergency vet system. If you live in Montego Bay and your animal gets ill on a Sunday or Public Holiday or after the vet's office is closed (4:00pm) then there is NOBODY to call...the animal must remain as is until the next working day. This is one service the Animal haven hopes to offer.

Support them if you can financially or otherwise (prayers, e-mails of support & encouragement, spreading the word, etc) and be sure to Check them out on facebook as well.

Things have been hectic around here recently and so I haven't been able to take as many photos of my cats as I woul like. And sadly I just don't have the time to regularly keep up this Chat Katze blog. :-(
I'll still try to stop by the blogs in the cat blogosphere every now and then though and will post a picture every now and then here too.

Fortunately, things haven't been at all hectic for Max or for that matter any of my other cats :)

In fact, it's just the same old, same old sleep all day, sleep all night routine for them. They never get tired of that routine so they're all quite happy and content right now.

Grrrr!!!

My ISP, Cable & Wireless, is frustrating me to no end. I've been having problems with them for over a month now and it doesn't look like the problem will be solved any time soon, so my catblogging is going to be somewhat intermittent for now and I might not be able to reply to your very kind comments or to check your blogs as often as I would like to. :-(

I think Cable and Wireless should think seriously about changing their name to "Incapable & Worthless!" It would be more fitting.

Life can be truly frustrating, can't it? Aren't you glad you have cats to come home to? :-D

Weekend Cat Blogging with Sasha

So Sasha absolutely loathes the camera. She only has to see it and she's off in a hurry to...I don't know where. She does not want to be anywhere in the vicinity of the camera. She's not afraid of it, she just doesn't like her picture taken and will do anything to avoid me getting a proper shot. She'll come and rub herself against my leg so that all I can get is a back shot, or she'll turn her head right or roll over just as I press the button. :-/

So you can imagine my surprise when I took out the camera and she jumped up beside me and sat while I snapped several photos of her. She just sat there giving me a look that said, "Make sure you take enough pictures to last you a lifetime Miss, cause you ain't getting any more of me after this once in a lifetime opportunity!"

And then, once she had enough of the flashy box, she did her get-up-and-walk-off thing.

I think, though, that she did have someplace to get to in a hurry. You see I know she didn't want to be late to board the Friday Ark over at the Modulator and I know she really had to go get all cleaned up for this Week's Weekend Cat Blogging over at "Sher's What Did you Eat?" and the Carnival of the Cats over at Mind of Mog. Ooo! What fun this weekend! :-D

A Red and White Tummy Tuesday

Tuesdays are Tummy days over at Lisaviolet's Diary and this Tuesday is a little sad for LV as she had to have dear Red euthanised on Sunday. I love red cats but have only ever had one. His name was Gin and he died three years ago. He was such an adorable sweetheart.

And here is Sebastian showing off his tummy for Tuesday. Sadly, this little boy went missing (again!) two days after we had a hurricane pass through the island. This was about two weeks ago. He was scheduled to be neutered that very week, but because of the damage and lack of electricity, the vet's office was closed and the...ahem...procedure was to be rescheduled. I don't know if something happened to him or if he's just out chasing girls. :-\ I'm really hoping the latter is the case. We'll see...

Man Cat Monday with Max

It's so relaxing to just sit and watch Max do what he does most and does best : SLEEP! He's an expert at it. He does it anywhere, anytime, and it doesn't matter how noisy or how quiet it is. He sleeps curled up in a ball or straight out, on his back or on his tummy or on his side. He doesn't care that Sebastian will sometimes come and sleep right on top of him. He doesn't care. I'm sure if he absolutely had to, he'd sleep up side down or standing up! :-D

Of course he gets very angry when, while he's enjoying his favourite...er...activity, Sebastian comes along and decides to start ...uuhhhmm..attacking his tail!

O.k. so maybe not exactly "Wordless" Wednesday :)

A hurricane passed through Jamaica over the weekend so I've been offline for a while. We just got back electricity last night. Internet service was down all day today and has only now just been restored. Hopefully by next week all should be back to normal for us here on the North Coast of the island. The South Coast, which was harder hit by the storm, will take longer to recover.

This was what KC did during the three or so fours when Hurricane Dean passed through.

It's Friday! It's the Weekend!

Yeah! It's the Weekend! And so it's time for another Weekend Cat Blogging, Carnival of the Cats and time to Board the Friday Ark No. 152 over at The Modulator! This Weekend Cat Blogging event is being hosted by Catsynth and Carnival of the Cats will be over at Stranger Ranger on Sunday.

Remember the Blue Bowl? That very bowl that Sebastian always loved to curl up in to sleep ?

Well, last weekend Sebastian broke the bowl. *sigh* He was in the bowl sleeping when something startled him. He jumped out of the bowl, pushing it off the table and it...broke. :-(

So now he just sleeps on the table with Max or sometimes he climbs on top of me and curls up in my lap. :-D

Sebastian fell off the Friday Ark into the ocean!!

...well, o.k. ...what really happened was that he got a little carried away and jumped off the Ark and landed in a ...well...he landed in a fish pond! :-D

Yesterday evening I heard a SPLASH outside my window. Then a thud. Naturally I immediately thought to myself, "Oh yeah. Sebastian has something to do with that."

As I went to investigate, I saw Sebastian coming through the window dripping wet doing that funny little walk cats do when they're wet. You know the walk? Two steps forward, left back leg shake, one step forward, front right leg shake, two steps forward right back leg shake...He had apparently fallen into the Fish Pond outside.

He looked a little surprised and embarrassed to see me standing there staring at him. So under the bed he went and refused to come out for me to dry him off. In a little while he was out again, still kind of wet, but a little less embarrassed. Besides he was curious about those furry toys I was shaking at him.

Well he's all dried off today and has boarded the Friday Ark # 151 over at The Modulator.

But this Weekend none of us here at Chat Katze will be partying. We're too saddened by the heartbreaking news over at "What did you Eat?".

Our friend Sundance was diagnosed with FIP and was so very, very ill that his mom, Sher, had to make the very difficult decision to let sweet Sundance go.

Sher & Upsie are hosting this Weekend Cat Blogging and on their page is a wonderful tribute to our dear friend Sundance.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to Upsie and to Sher at this very difficult time.

Good bye sweet Sundance, goodbye.

Oooh Presents!!

So yesterday I got a notice to collect a package from the Post Office. Well, imagine my surprise when I saw that the package was coming all the way from Vienna, Austria. But whoever could be sending me a package from Vienna? Why, Astrid, Kashim & Othello!

You see, back in June, Kahim & Othello had a "Cutest Kitty" contest as a fundraiser for Megan's Elijah rescue, and Sebastian won the contest!

Well we were all so excited as we opened the package and saw all these wonderful prizes!

Sebastian promptly checked each and every one of them out and then grabbed one of the black furry toys and ran off to play with it.

He played with them for the rest of the evening. In fact by about 8:00 last night the white furry toy was no longer furry!

Heart broken

Oh my darling baby Sebastian has not come home for a day and I fear some dreadful thing has befallen him. He has never stayed away from home for any length of time before. He has not been neutered and so I can only hope that he is o.k. and has just gone wandering after some female. But this hope is so very weak. He still acts like a kitten in many ways, takes chances and has no concept of life preservation.

This is the last picture I have of my darling Seb as he stretched out with his best pal Max one evening.

I am utterly heartbroken :-(

Tummy & Tails for Tuesday!

It's Tuesday, which means that Lisaviolet's Diary is featuring lotsa nd lots of tummies today! It's also the day that Gattina and those other Cats on Tuesday Bloggers tell us all about their cute, wacky kitties.

But today BJ and KC wanted to show off not their tummies, but their tails.

The only time these two can be seen this close to each other is when they are hungry and there is food before them both. Once the hunger has been satisfied it's almost as if they suddenly realise how close they are physically to each other, they give each other nasty looks and growls and one of them will usually walk away with a hiss! :-D

Max, on the other hand, has no problem showing off his tummy this Tuesday!

The thing with Sebastian is this. If you bring anything new into the house or happen to put something new down on a chair or on the floor he feels compelled to go and lie on top of it. New shoes, new curtains, new clothes...new anything. Here he is lying on top of my new curtains. As long as they were down on the chair this was his new sleeping place.

Puddy at it's a Byootaful Life is hosting this Weekend Cat Blogging Party nad is having an optional "Yellow" Theme in honour of the Simpsons Movie opening. Although I can't stand the Simpsons (gasp!!) Sebastian wanted to participate 'cause he just loves themes...and he just looooves to be in the spotlight! :-D

This is the longest period of time that Stripe has kept his flea collar on. Needless to say he hates it. He usually manages to get it off within half an hour of it being put on him.

It's always so funny to see him for the first five minutes after he gets his collar. He does this little dance and backwards shuffle. Then he goes around in a circle - backwards, pulling his head back. :-D

Then he runs outside and about half an hour later he's back. Without the collar.

Tummy and Toes for Tuesday

Boy. Cats sure are the experts on the art of sleeping and sleeping well. One such expert is my own Max. This fat boy is famous for his sleeping marathons. He'll get up, stretch, eat, sit for a while in a daze, yawn and then go right back to sleep.

No wonder he's so fat! I wish I could get him more active. And no, he doesn't play with toys. I'll throw a ball or some other fun toy at him and he'll just look at it with utter disdain and turn his head away. The only things he gets excited about are pens and pencils. He'll play quite vigourously with a pen for about...30 seconds and then with a bored yawn flop back down somewhere and off to sleep he will go.

Anyway...here he is, fast asleep. He didn't even notice me as I snapped several shots of his cute white tummy. Make sure to head on over to lisaviolet's diary for the line up of more cute tummy shots today and every Tuesday!

A Tail for Thursday

Stripe is very protective of his tail. He doesn't like it touched, interfered with, admired, praised, spoken about or meddled with in any way by anybody, no matter who you may THINK you are. He doesn't like it when other cats get too close to it. He loathes it when humans think they are allowed to touch it. If you get too close he will warn you by growling. If you do not immediately retreat from the tail he will growl a little louder. If you still decide to be obstinate (whether consciously or not) he WILL slap you very, very hard. If necessary he will draw blood.

As I snapped this picture he was giving me the second warning : the growl. I snapped the photo very quickly and then beat a hasty retreat.

After this Weekend's Cat Blogging and the fun party on the Friday Ark, BJ was completely worn out. I caught him napping yesterday behind a couple of flower pots. BJ normally likes to sleep under trees outside in the open. When I saw the curled up ball of fur here behind the flower pots I thought at first that it was KC as this is normally her favourite place to snooze. I somehow suspect KC would not have been pleased to know BJ was in her spot as they cannot stand even the very sight of each other and have never, ever gotten along with each other for even one second!

Well Kashim and Othello , in celebration of their new blog, had a contest. It was a fundraiser for Megan's Elija's rescue.

We were all asked to submit our cutest pictures and to tell why we thought they were cute. As we wanted to help out with such a worthy cause, and...ahem...not because we think we are all that cute...ahem...we, along with so many cute kitties sent in our entries and Kashim and Othello did the round up. Well! Weren't we surprised to hear the news that Sebastian won the contest!! Yeah! We're so very excited about this news!

Sebastian was so excited in fact that he decided to do another cute pose for his victory photograph.

He insists that he was only posing for the camera and most definitely did NOT happen to fall asleep like this! UhhHuh. :-D

Thanks so very much to Kashim & Othello for having this fun contest and to all who participated in this worthy cause. We had so much fun looking at all those cute pics!

Well, if it's the weekend, it must mean that it's party time! Yeah! We're heading on down to one of our favourite little spots where the Friday Ark is about to set sail for a round of Friday Fun.

But the fun and games don't stop there folks! No sir! The Weekend Fun Begins at the Bengal Brats' pets' garden and goes on til the wee hours of dawn on Sunday. Slo grab your party hats and get on board!

Home Again!

Stripe is back home and quite glad to be so. He is healing nicely and is on his absolute best behaviour. Indeed, although his first point of order was to push his face right into BJ's food bowl...while BJ was still eating from the said bowl, Stripe hasn't wandered far away from the front door since he has been back. I wonder how long this will last :-D

Do you notice that nick in his left ear? He left one morning with his two ears quite perfectly whole and came back with this...er...ear piercing. You can see that nicked ear here as well.

All truth be told, the little guy had me worried and I am glad to have him back home. :o)

Stripe was also quite happy and grateful to see the kind comments and good wishes for him these past few days and wanted to thank you ever so much.

Wordy Wednesday

I'm happy to say that my little busybody boy Stripe is healing nicely and will be home before the weekend. He will get to eat only soft canned food for now until his jaw heals, so he'll be happy about that. He's still at the vet and will stay there until maybe Thursday evening.

He is, of course, most definitely not happy with this arrangement and vocally expressed it when I went to visit him today. He promised all kinds of good behaviour from now on. Hmmm...knowing Stripe he probably will break these promises on the first day he gets home!

As soon as the flash went off he woke up. You should have seen his expression! I missed it because my camera wouldn't click fast enough. :-) Needless to say I don't think he was amused.

Man Cat Monday

Stripe.

He came in Friday, had his dinner and then didn't show up on Saturday morning. At first I thought nothing of it. He has been neutered but still has the travel bug and goes wandering off every now and then. He usually makes his re-appearance later on in the day. He never stays away longer than a day.

So when Sunday morning rolled around and he still didn't show up I started to worry a bit. By Sunday evening I knew something had happened to him.
He finally showed up this morning (Monday) and his face looked a little funny. On closer examination he looks like he's been in a really serious fight. His mouth wouldn't close and his face looked swollen. He doesn't show any interest in food or water. He won't allow me to take a closer look in his mouth (growls, scratches and hisses) or face but I do get close enough to notice that his mouth smells really...I mean really bad. Oh oh...

This is where it gets kind of gross so be warned.

Well...it turns out that Stripe has a broken jaw and a really nasty cut in the back of his mouth. The smell? Well most of you pet owners might know that smell. The cut in his mouth was infected with...maggots (Jamaica has a really serious screw worm problem). :-(

So my poor baby is in the kitty hospital tonight for the first time in his life.

How he got that jaw broken and that cut all the way in the back of his mouth (toward his throat) is completely baffling to us all. But then again, Stripe is the most curious cat I know. He probably stuck his head somewhere it didn't belong, as he usually does. :-(

Ooooh Ooooh ! Have you heard ? Have you heard? Have you heard the exciting news?

Astrid, Kashim and Othello have their own website now! Isn't that cool? And what is even cooler is that they're hosting the bestest contest ever! The prize is totally top secret. In fact it's so top secret that I doubt even paulchen knows what it is! Ha!

The contest is a fundraising effort for Elijah’s Rescue and the last date of entry is June 20, 2007 so be sure to enter!

Max : I had just got my new printer, had just taken it out of the box and was in the middle of setting it up. I saw a flash of black in the corner of my eye and heard some scuffling. When I glanced over, there was Max sitting proudly in his box looking up at me with that oh so surprised look! He does it every single time. :)

BJ : I think this is his cutest picture yet because it's the only one I have that shows up his blue eyes! :-) He was actually staring at a lizard that was perched right below me. I don't think he was pleased when I snapped this picture and scared the lizard away!

Sebastian: Ahh...there are so many pictures of Sebastian that are THE cutest! Ha! How do I choose just one?! I don't know why I chose this one...I just love how his paw is sticking out. ;-)

Sasha : I love this one because I think her colours are so pretty against the green lawn.

Stripe: I just adore this picture of Stripe. He was a kitten at the time and loved playing in this grass.

KC : Doesn't she just look like a perfect little lady? :)

Yay! It's Friday again! And that means that it's time to board the Friday Ark.

It's also time for Weekend Cat Blogging # 106 being hosted this week by the gracious Puddy over at A Byootaful Life.

Well, KC got so excited that she did a flip and a little dance. Then she got thirsty and rushed on over to her favourite watering hole - a little place known as "The Plant Container!"

That plant water must have tasted really really good. I lifted her and put her in front of her water bowl that contained freash clean filtered water. She took one look at it and went straight back to "The Plant Container". I poked and prodded her while she was drinking and she just continued lapping up this gloriously filthy water.

What is it about dirty water that attracts cats so? :-D

Man Cat Monday

My house is being painted. The window sills were painted a bright, crisp, white yesterday. They looked so nice and clean and it really freshened up the place a bit.

I had to go out yesterday evening, but, because of the humidity, the paint wasn't dry when I was ready to leave so I had to leave the windows open.

Of late, my precious white baby Sebastian has started this new thing where he sits on these window sills and looks out. He'll actually walk from window sill to window sill admiring the view - mainly Dawg Lu. The other cats prefer to go outside to admire the view.

Well, when I got home I noticed something funny on my very dark brown coffee table. There were little white paw prints making a semi straight line right across the table. And the clean freshly painted window sills? Well, there were little brown paw prints all across those. I examined everybody's paws and saw no traces of white paint, but Sebastian's paws fit just perfectly to the marks on the table so talk about caught red handed...or white pawed as the case may be! :-)

So if anyone knows a way to get white oil based paint off a dark brown stained teak coffee table, I would greatly appreciate it! :-D

Weekend Cat Blogging with Sasha

This week has been a very hot, dry week, which, of course, is lovely as May was a very wet month. But boy it has been hot, and I do mean hot! So when it started raining yesterday, I was happy, because it has cooled down significantly.

All the other cats want to stay inside when it rains as they don't particularly like to get their paws wet. Sasha, though, doesn't care whether it's wet or dry. If it rains then you can find her under a car somewhere outside, or sheltering under a leaf...outside.

While Puddy over at it's a byootiful life is going into winter, we are feeling the heat of summer coming on. If it's this hot in June, I shudder to think of what it's gonna be like in August! Eeek!

Well, Miss Rachel, I think your tummy has to be the most beautiful tummy I have ever seen. And no, I don't say that to all the girls.

And since you showed me yours, I wanted to impress you with mine :-D

No those are not tufts of fur...those are my rock hard abs...heh heh ;-)

And now, *sigh*. Dawg Lu decided she wanted to show off her tummy too. I tried to explain to her that Tummy Tuesday is only for us felines. She doesn't know what "felines" is. And since she threatened to hold her breath until I snapped and published her Tummy picture...here it is. I wonder sometimes whether Dawg Lu knows she's a canine.

Man Cat Monday

This is what BJ does. He sits and stares at you from afar. And stares. And stares. If you're in a room with him and move around, his eyes never leave you. If you move towards him he gets up and runs under a chair or bed or table.

He doesn't like it when people come by for a visit. In fact, BJ doesn't really like anybody...except when he's hungry. Then, then he is the friendliest cat you could ever meet. :) He's been this way ever since he was a kitten. He's never been through any trauma, except the trauma of birth!

Sasha. Sasha. Sasha. This little girl is most definitely NOT an indoor cat. She comes inside to eat and that's as much house as she can stand.

She spends every other waking and sleeping hour outdoors. She drinks water only from every puddle, pool and every possible dirty watering hole that is outside. She apparently does not like the taste of fresh water in a clean bowl.

No matter how you brush her, wipe her face clean and otherwise try to groom her to make her look presentable, she just goes outside and rolls in the dust and frustrates the whole thing.

*sigh* Sasha would love to invite all of you to board the Friday Ark and jump into the Weekend Cat Blogging Pool of fun!

Trouble

Sebastian. If something (let's say my keys) is missing, I know Sebastian took it.

If I'm sitting in my bed and hear something crash somewhere else in my apartment, I know Sebastian had something to do with it.

If I come home from work and find my house a mess I just know Sebastian had a hand in creating that mess somehow.

This little boy sure gets into a great deal of mischief. His name is the most called name in this house!

Don't let his sweet little face fool you. I should have called him "Trouble" instead of Sebastian!

I found these three babies this Wednesday.

They were on a bed of leaves. Their only cover were palm branches. We've been having rainy weather and that day the clouds were gathering, getting ready to dump more heavy rain on us.

I pondered moving them to somewhere safer...but then their momma came and didn't look too amused at my being there.

She swiped at my hand and looked ready to tear me to bits when I tried to touch them. So I retreated.

As I feared, the rain came and boy did it rain! I went back out there to check on the kittens and sure enough, they were not there. She had moved them, but to where I do not know.

I find Sebastian's choice of the bowl as a sleeping place fascinating. None of my other cats have ever been interested in any bowl other than the toilet bowl. Not to sleep in of course! They just love drinking the toilet bowl water for some reason. Gross. So I now close the lid. Why do cats and dogs love toilet bowl water? Someone ought to conduct a scientific study!

I find Seb's choice fascinating also because normally Seb doesn't sleep all curled up. He sleeps stretched out. Like this :

This is Sebastian's permanent sleeping place. If there's anything in that bowl, say, for example, some apples or oranges, he takes them out one by one and dumps them onto the floor and then climbs in.

We've been tagged by Aloysius to present seven random things about us.

Here are the rules : Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and ask them to read your blog!

Here are seven random facts about us :

1. Stripe : I loooooove Roger Federer! I sit and look at my autographed picture of Roger Federer every now and then and say to myself, "Self, in a few more months you will play just like Roger Federer used to play before he got into this silly losing funk."

2. Sasha : I am a picky eater. I refuse to eat the same thing two days in a row. I will not eat dry food in the morning. I must, MUST, have my gravy in the morning and my dry at night. No, I will not have any gravy in the evenings. That's preposterous. This drives my mom crazy as she has been trying to get us all to eat dry food only, mornings and evenings. I guess she doesn't understand that I am a cat and I must have everything exactly the way I like it. Especially when it inconveniences every human in my life.

3. BJ : I'm the only kitten who got to stay with my cat-mom Sasha. All my other brothers went to other homes. I'm eight years old and still have not warmed up to humans as yet. I am very suspicious of and do not trust anything that walks on two legs as I truly believe that all humans work for the government and are out to get all of us cats. In fact I'm not so sure I want to be a part of this "meme"...who do you work for? Why do you want to know this information about us? Hmmm...I smell something fishy here...there is a conspiracy afoot! I will not divulge any more about myself as I don't trust your motives! Good bye.

4. Max : I like drinking water out of every container (toilet bowl water tastes the best actually) other than my designated drinking bowl. I also like to surprise mom by going outside and bringing her all kinds of goodies that I hunt and catch. I especially like catching small mice, and lizards late at night after Mom goes in to bed. I bring them inside to her alive. Once I get them inside though, I quickly lose interest in them, let them go and then usually will try to get some sleep. But Mom gets so excited when she sees the goodies, especially the mice! She jumps onto things and screams and runs around with the broom! I'm usually too tired to join in the fun though so I'll just lay there watching her...happy in the knowledge that I brought her so much joy!

5. KC : I was not abandoned. I just got thoroughly bored with my previous home and so decided to discard those humans about six years ago. I went in search of a new palace and new subjects who would serve me humbly and eagerly. I ran into BJ and his cat-mom Sasha and decided to check out their subjects and their palace. I liked it so much I decided to stay. No, it never did occur to me to ask the humans if they minded. Their opinion never counts anyway. I do not like to be petted...wait...I do not like to be touched and will growl at you if you insist on that "petting" nonsense. If I like you, and am confident that you will not touch me at all, I will voluntarily jump/climb into your lap and take a nap.

6. Sebastian : I'm the youngest of them all and have an enormous amount of energy and like to direct most of that energy in chasing...well...just about anything. It doesn't even have to move. I specialise in tails, however. Especially Max's tail. He doesn't like anybody (not even Mom) playing with his tail, so I chase it just to annoy the heck out of him! He's sooooo funny when he's annoyed. Hahahahahahahah!

7. We live with three of these stupid, stupid creatures called 'dawgs' who we all really, really despise.

Time Out and a little Tummy for Tuesday

I came home a few nights ago and found Max on top of my Kitchen cupboard. I have never seen him all the way up there before.

How did he get up there? I have no idea. He stayed up there for a while though.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see him come back down. I had to go out for a couple of hours and when I got back home he was on the ground. Well, actually he was safely on my coffee table looking as cool and calm as ever.

So, why did he go up there?

Answer:

You see, there is a certain little fellow named Sebastian. Sebastian is convinced that Max's tail is prey which must be hunted, caught and subdued.

Max will usually play along with Seb for a while, but then Max gets bored and wants to stop. I suspect Max (and his tail!) needed a break and the only place he culd get that break was on top of my kitchen cupboard!

But...well...Sebastian is quite a ...er... persistent little hunter. When he gets in that play zone he will not stop until he gets tired.
